Bodhi Linux

Bodhi Linux

Bodhi Linux is an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution using the Enlightenment window manager. Bodhi is purposely engineered to be minimalist with a very small amount of bundled apps, resulting in a very small distribution image of under 400MB. The system requirements to run Bodhi only require a 300MHz CPU, 128MB RAM and 1.5GB space, so it will pretty much run on any computer made in the last 12 years.

Because of the use of Enlgihtenment and the cut down Ubuntu base Bodhi Linuxcan get you up and running on very low spec boxes. Bodhi Linuxhave also taken the time to ensure when you boot you can let the system know what type of machine you are running. This is done via Enligthenment Profiles which allow for customisation to use a variety of devices such as Tablets Laptops and Desktops.

Bodhi Linux is one of few distros that use Enlightenment as its default Desktop Manager. Within Bodhi you will see just how powerful as well as beautiful this suit of libraries can be. Bodhi Linuxdo however recognize that Enlightenment is in heavy development. Therefore we push out the latest updates to our test repository as soon as we get them compiled. From there they go to the main repo as quick as possible.
